What are bunny lines?
Bunny lines are the lines on either side of the nose, as shown in the picture below.
Why do we form bunny lines?
Bunny lines form due to repeated contraction of the muscle known as ‘nasalis’, shown in the diagram below. Sometimes bunny lines can form if you are having repeat anti-wrinkle treatment to the frown and forehead – the bunny area starts can become more active and noticeable.
How are bunny lines treated?
Anti-wrinkle injections are used to reduce bunny lines. We place between 2 and 3 units of anti-wrinkle product on each side of the nose into nasalis muscle. We often use ice to numb the area before treating as it can be a sensitive area to treat.
How long does it take for bunny line treatment to take effect?
After treatment it takes between 5 and 12 days for treatment to take effect, depending on the brand of anti-wrinkle used.
How long does bunny line treatment last?
After treatment, the bunny lines should be reduced for 2 – 3 months. The treatment does not last as long as when we treat facial slimming or frown lines because we are only using small units to treat bunny lines.
How much does bunny line treatment cost?
The cost of treatment is likely to be between $50 and $70 depending on the number of units used on the day.
What are the risks of bunny line treatment?
Bunny lines treatment is very safe and so there are very few risks of treatment. There is a chance of a small bruise in the area injected, but this is not common.
