I was wondering if an eyebrow lift would help eyelids that are naturally droopy?

Anon Staff asked 4 months ago

Also if I get an eyebrow lift I just want to ensure that I will still have movement in my forehead? I want mine to look more natural so people don’t notice I’ve had it done.

It depends on the severity of the ‘droopiness’ of the eyelids. If they are slightly sitting below the orbital rim, the muscle that surrounds the eye, called the obicularis oculi, can be injected with anti-wrinkle injections. When the lateral part of this muscle is injected with anti-wrinkle injections, it relaxes the muscle up, creating a brow lift. Depending how strong/ weak the frontalis muscle is, it will generally give you an indication of how much of a brow lift you will get. The stronger the more of a brow lift you will have. This is because the frontalis muscle of the forehead raises the eyebrows up. If you have a weak frontalis muscle, you won’t get as much of a brow lift. Brow lifts with anti-wrinkle injections and raise the brows a couple of millimeters. Anti-wrinkle injections for a brow lift start working in 1-5 days after injection, continue to work for 2 weeks, and generally last up to 3 months.
If the eyelids are completing hanging over the eyelashes, then surgery (called an upper blephroplasty), may be required. Our experienced injectors at City Skin can give you some insight if you will be a candidate for anti-wrinkle injections, or if surgery may be required to achieve your desired results. Keep in mind, upper blephroplastys generally last around 10 years, as we still continue to age, even after surgery, and another may be required. A referral to a plastic surgeon by your family doctor is required, if you would like to consult a plastic surgeon on this matter.
