anti-wrinkle and dermal filler cost

How much do anti-wrinkle, dermal filler and Belkyra treatments cost?

Please note that Australian law prevents us from using the names of anti-wrinkle and dermal filler products on the website. This is why we have to use the term ‘anti-wrinkle injections’ rather than the name of the brand.

We have first time guides to dermal filler and anti-wrinkle treatments if you need more detailed information about treatments.

Anti-wrinkle cost at Cityskin

Cost of dermal fillers at Cityskin in Melbourne & Perth

The cost of dermal filler depends on the area treated. As a general rule you need to use thinner fillers in the lips and under the eyes and thicker fillers in the areas where you want more lift (lower face and cheeks).

At Cityskin we charge from $550 – $880 for 1ml of dermal filler, depending on the filler used. At Cityskin we use the premium dermal fillers available in Australia.

By law, cosmetic websites in Australia are not allowed to advertise brand names which can make things a little confusing.

We have 3 clinics offering anti-wrinkle treatments in Melbourne. In Armadale and Hampton, 2 anti-wrinkle products are available. One costs $4 per unit and the other costs $12 per unit. You need 3 times as much of the $4 product to have the same effect as the $12 product so, essentially, they are the same cost. In Kew, Mr Koppert uses the most recognisable brand of anti-wrinkle treatment and this costs $12 per unit.

Cost of Belkyra treatment (Kybella) at Cityskin in Melbourne & Perth

  • We charge $550 for each vial of Kybella. At each appointment you are likely to need 2 vials of Kybella so each treatment will cost from $1100.
  • We recommend at least 2 treatments to see the best results so the likely overall cost of your treatment will be from $2200.
  • Please be aware that this is a guide and you may need 3 vials per treatment if you have a larger double chin.

This can be slightly confusing so we have provided a table, shown below, to show the cost of a female patient with a mild to moderate double chin having a full Kybella treatment:

Number of vials of Kybella Cost
Appointment 1 2 $1100
Appointment 2 2 $1100

Total cost = $2200.

Please note that this is a guide and the cost may be higher if you need 3 vials per treatment or more than 2 treatments.

The cost of treating your double chin depends on the width and thickness of the fat under the chin. Read our Belkyra guide to find out more.

Treatments are performed 6 weeks apart in order to achieve the best results. Have a read of our full article on Belkyra (Kybella) to find out everything you need to know about this revolutionary treatment to reduce double chin fat.

What is an anti-wrinkle unit?

An anti-wrinkle ‘unit’ is a measured amount of anti-wrinkle product. When we reconstitute a vial of anti-wrinkle product we add 2.5ml of saline to 100 units.

How many anti-wrinkle units will I need?

A female face generally needs 15-25 units to the frown muscles, 5-10 units to the forehead and 6-12 units to the crows feet. ‘Bunny lines’ need 1-2 units each side. A neck lift can be achieved, in the right patient, using 10-20 units. Please note that these unit amounts are a guide only. You can discuss your tailored treatment with one of our specialists at your appointment. To find out more about anti-wrinkle units read our article on “How many units and injections will I need

How much is my anti-wrinkle treatment likely to cost? An estimate for different areas

Please use these as a guide only. Also note that when we treat forehead in women we always recommend treating the frown at the same time to prevent the eyebrows from becoming heavy after treatment. For a female patient we estimate that you may need

Forehead treatment: 5 – 10 units = $60 – $120

Frown lines: 15-25 units = $180 – $300

Crows feet: 6-12 units each side = 12 – 24 units in total = $144 – $288

Facial slimming = upwards of 50 units (25 units each side ) = from $550

How many anti-wrinkle units do men need compared to women?

A male face typically needs approximately 50% more units than a female face but individual requirements can vary. Men tend to have stronger facial muscles which require more anti-wrinkle product to have the desired effect.

Is there a cheap anti-wrinkle brand and an expensive brand?

There are actually 3 anti-wrinkle brands currently on the market here in Australia. The frustration is that, by law, we are not allowed to mention brand names on websites. Over the past 6 years we have researched and tried all 3 brands. As a practitioner I feel there is one cheaper brand out of the 3 available in Australia and we do not use this at Cityskin.

At Cityskin Armadale and Hampton we offer you the choice of either one of the 2 recommended brands – one is a household named anti-wrinkle brand from America, the other is the ‘European’ brand. They both have their pros and cons. Mr Erik Koppert in Kew uses only the most recognisable brand of anti-wrinkle treatment.
