Answer

Anti-wrinkle injections are a great way to help reduce headaches and migraines. They work by relaxing the muscles that are associated with tension headaches. Often, the muscles treated are the forehead muscle (frontalis) and the glabella complex (the frown muscles). We often overuse these muscles, resulting in headaches and migraines.

Depending on the strength of the forehead muscle, about 5-13 units are injected to relax this muscle and about 20 units are injected into the frown muscle. Each person may require more or less, depending on strength of the muscle.

Anti-wrinkle injections start working in 1-5 days and peak effect is at 2 weeks, lasting up to 3 months. Patients generally respond to treatment within a week after injection and will start to notice their headaches coming back once the anti-wrinkle injections start to wear off, around the 3 month mark. This is a temporary effect it has for headache and migraine relief, and will need to be treated again, every 3-4 months, for ongoing headache relief.

Prices start from $4/ unit for anti-wrinkle injections. For a video demonstration of forehead anti-wrinkle injections, go to https://cityskin.com.au/anti-wrinkle/migraine-and-tension-headache-treatment/
