Dermal filler does not boost collagen production itself. It is made of a substance, which we cannot name ingredients, due to regulations, that adds volume under the skin. We only use non-permanent fillers here at Cityskin because we do believe the benefit outweighs the risk that comes with permanent fillers. There are also biostimulators that are injected into the face, and they do create collagen synthesis, over a period of time. We also do not inject with them here at Cityskin.
The only thing that ‘may’ stimulate a small amount of collagen synthesis with dermal fillers is the trauma caused from the needle, or the cannula entering the skin.
Here is a great post by Dr. Jonathan Brown from Cityskin, discussing why we only use non-permanent fillers. https://cityskin.com.au/cosmetic-advice/are-permanent-dermal-fillers-safe/
