This depends how much product is injected into the frontalis muscle. If you would still like a little bit of movement in your forehead after anti-wrinkle injections, please let your practitioner know. Also, let your practitioner know if you would like no movement at all.
The action of of the forehead muscle is to lift the eyebrows up, if too much product is injected into this muscle, and/ or if it is injected too low, you will be completely ‘frozen’ and may feel ‘heavy’ on your brows. Please note that there is no reversal medication for anti-wrinkle injections. We can always start conservatively and add more product in 2 weeks, if there is more movement than desired. Then, we will know the ‘correct’ dose for you next visit.
Generally, I advise my patients to have at least ‘some’ anti-wrinkle injections into the frown line, even if they aren’t concerned with this area, and rarely treat the forehead alone. When the frown lines are also injected, anti-wrinkle injections actually lift the muscles up and out, giving a support shelf when we relax the forehead muscle. We can also inject around the sides of the eyes to also lift the brow and give additional support.
