After injection it takes between 5 and 14 days to take effect. The anti-wrinkle product builds up blocks the nerve signal being sent between the end of the nerve and the muscle.

Anti-wrinkle products are broken down by proteases (enzymes in the body that break down proteins) and the byproduct is excreted.
