Why do my lines / wrinkles look worse at the end of the day when I wear makeup?
When you wear makeup, the lines around the frown, crow’s feet and forehead appear worse at the end of the day. Generally, the thicker the makeup the worse the lines appear.
When makeup is first applied in the morning it can provide a smooth layer on the surface of the skin but, with repeated smiling, frowning, and lifting the eyebrows the makeup can crack in places of high movement and make lines appear more noticeable.
Wrinkle management treatments work well to reduce movement and thereby reducing the appearance of lines at the end of the day. It is particularly effective for reducing lines when heavier makeup is needed for example for a photo-shoot or wedding.
