Early 20s

In your early 20s you should be showing off your skin because it is at its best! We rarely see fine lines and sun damage with patients in their early 20s. The most popular treatment for people in this age category are lip enhancement, eyebrow lifts and facial slimming.

Late 20s

As we head towards late 20s people start to develop fine lines. Sun damage and smoking increases your chances of developing lines as you age. Crows feet, frown lines and forehead lines start to develop but these are often subtle lines.

In your 20s you generally need minimal anti-wrinkle units to reduce the lines.

By using between 6 and 12 units of anti-wrinkle treatment on each side, the appearance of crows feet can be reduced. Read all about anti-wrinkle units here.

Frown lines

Frown lines develop due to repeated contraction of the corrugator muscle. It is one of the most common places to have anti-wrinkle injections as patients often hate the frown lines. We use between 15 and 25 units to reduce the appearance of the frown line.

Forehead lines

Repeated lifting of the eyebrows can lead to forehead lines. We tend to use between 5 and 15 units of anti-wrinkle product to reduce the forehead lines. forehead lines anti wrinklePlease note that when you treat the forehead lines you always need to treat the frown at the same time to prevent the eyebrows from becoming heavy and flat. Watch our video below on how to prevent a heavy brow when treating forehead lines.

Facial slimming

A popular treatment at the clinic is facial slimming with anti-wrinkle injections. It also works for patients who grind their teeth (bruxism). By using between 20 and 30 units of anti-wrinkle treatment into each masseter muscle (the bite muscle) it can have a slimming effect on the face, as shown in the picture below.

Cost of dermal filler treatments

The cost of dermal filler depends on the area treated. As a general rule you need to use thinner fillers in the lips and under the eyes and thicker fillers in the areas where you want more lift (lower face and cheeks).

At Cityskin we charge from $550 – $880 for 1ml of dermal filler, depending on the filler used. Have a read of our dermal filler cost page to find out more about all treatment prices.

As a general rule the longer lasting dermal fillers are more expensive.

Cost of anti-wrinkle injections

We charge $4 per unit for Brand B anti-wrinkle treatments and $12 per unit for Brand A. It can be quite confusing as you need 3 times as many units of Brand B to have the same effect as Brand A. If you are comparing the two brands directly then Brand B works out as $12 per unit.

A female face generally needs 20 units to the frown muscles, 5-10 units to the forehead and 6-12 units to the crows feet. ‘Bunny lines’ need 1-2 units each side. A neck lift can be achieved, in the right patient, using 10-20 units. Please note that these unit amounts are a guide only. You can discuss your tailored treatment with one of our specialists at your appointment.

A male face typically needs approximately 50% more units than a female face but individual requirements can vary.
