When considering dermal filler and anti-wrinkle treatments, it is important to minimise the associated risks.

There is a varying length of downtime between each laser. Fraxel laser on a high setting (for facial rejuvenation) had a longer recovery time than Medline on a low setting (for removing sunspots). It can take 2 weeks to fully recover after a CO2 laser treatment.

The same can be said for a chemical peel – a Jessner’s peel had a downtime of a few days whereas a light salicylic peel had a shorter recovery period.

When to have dermal filler after a chemical peel or laser

It is generally advisable to wait until your skin has fully recovered before undergoing dermal filler treatment. This recovery period may range from 2 to 10 days, depending on the specific laser or peel used.

When to have anti-wrinkle injections after a chemical peel or laser

This is up to the discretion of the practitioner. Generally, it is recommended to wait until any redness or inflammation has subsided after laser or chemical peel procedures. While there isn’t extensive scientific evidence supporting specific timelines, practitioners often rely on personal experience and clinical judgment in these cases.
