Home > Questions > Why do my lines / wrinkles look worse at the end of the day when I wear makeup?

When you wear makeup the lines around the frown, crows feet and forehead appear worse at the end of the day. As a general rule the thicker the makeup the worse the lines appear.

When makeup is first applied in the morning it can provide a smooth layer on the surface of the skin but, with repeated smiling, frowning and lifting the eyebrows the makeup can crack in places of high movement and make lines appear more noticeable.

Anti-wrinkle injections work well to reduce movement and thereby reducing the appearance of lines at the end of the day. It is particularly effective for reducing lines when heavier makeup is needed for example for a photo-shoot or wedding.
