Let me preface the answer by saying that we can count on one hand the number of times we have been asked to reverse the effects of a treatment. It is very unlikely.
Can anti-wrinkle treatment be reversed?
Anti-wrinkle treatment cannot be reversed. The effects last approximately 3 months depending on the units used and we carefully place the treatment in the correct area to achieve the right result. We can touch up anti-wrinkle treatment. Sometimes patients develop new movement higher up in the forehead or rarely a ‘spocking’ effect can be seen where the brow lifts up at the sides. This can be corrected with a tiny amount of anti-wrinkle product.
Can dermal fillers be reversed?
Yes, dermal fillers can be reversed by injecting a small amount of enzyme into the filler. The filler is broken down by the enzyme and excreted by the body.
Thankfully it is very rare for us to need to do this and I think that the skill of the practitioner is to take time to understand your needs and expectations in order to achieve the best result that you will be happy with.
