When can I have dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle treatment after Coronavirus (COVID-19)?
We have had a number of enquiries recently about cosmetic injectables and Coronavirus so here is our guidance on dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle treatment after infection.
When can I have dermal fillers after Coronavirus (Covid-19)
If you have had Coronavirus, it is advisable to wait 2 weeks before having dermal fillers.
There is the belief that having dermal fillers within 2 weeks of dental work or infection (e.g. severe cold, chest infection) can lead to an increased risk of the dermal filler becoming inflamed at a later date. The likelihood of this happening is still extremely low, but we should act on the side of caution just to be safe.
There doesn’t seem to be any impact on the safety or side effect of anti-wrinkle injections if you have them around the time of a concurrent infection within the body or after dental work.
When can I have anti-wrinkle injections after Coronavirus (Covid-19)
You can have anti-wrinkle injections after having Coronavirus once you have finished the recommended quarantine period of self-isolation.
When can I have collagen stimulating filler after Coronavirus (Covid-19)?
If you have had Coronavirus we recommend waiting 6 weeks before you having treatment with collagen stimulating fillers.
